Inamo Soho

Inamo Soho (10)

Don't worry fellow foodies, I've not been sucked in by some crazy Hollywood diet and started eating virtual meals.

Although I can't promise you I wasn't doing something crazy. Crazy cool that is!

Let me introduce you to the computerised restaurant; Inamo Soho, where playing with your food is encouraged!

Inamo Soho (6)

From the outside it looks like a standard restaurant, with tables and seats, you know, pretty standard stuff, but sit down and its no longer conventional.

The table is essentially one giant computer. Instead of a waitress and a paper menu, you are invited to get hands on, and using the little mouse pad, you scroll through the menu digitally.

Do you ever get that really annoying moment, when your food comes, and its not at all what you imagined it to look like? The  to make matters worse, you see your dinner date's food- instant food envy. Well say goodbye to that, as when you hover over a menu item, the food is displayed on your plate.

This digital wizardry is all very intense. Me and Helen had never stayed so silent!

You can even play games while you wait for your food. We decided on the classic Battleships.

Although sharing a table meant cheating was inevitable.

Inamo is Japanese; sushi, noodles, tempura, that type. The menu is quite small, and it isn't cheap, it was delicious, but then your paying for more of the experience.

We shared, battered prawns, which were gorgeously crispy on the outside.

Seared Salmon Maki, which had  a middle of soft avocado and cream cheese. I'm really starting to like avocado lately, so this was a good choice.

We then had a larger dish, which we plumped for the Hot Stone Rib Eye, after we saw someone else have it. What did I tell you about food envy.

Rare slices of rib-eye beef  come on this sizzling hot black stone with 3 sauces (zingy nam jim, teriyaki & Korean BBQ sauce). I loved the nam jim, as it was very spicy, which went amazing with the rich beef.

We also had so edamame beans and sticky rice.

Never having really ever used chopsticks, we decided to get a quick lesson.

Inamo Soho (3)

This girl got it right away- she's going places with those skills.

Me on the other hand... not so much. Where's my knife and fork?

Inamo is such a unusual, fun place to go for dinner. Want to impress your date? Definitely will here. Date not going so well? Least you can entertain yourself with the built in games. Solitaire perhaps?

    1. I think it depends what your after, as I said the portions are small for the price, so I can see that being an issue, but I think the experience makes it worth it for a special treat, but I wouldn't go regularly. x
