Brunch at Drunch

Wednesday 12 February 2014
Drunch (7)

I hadn't seen this little beauty in a good long while, so me and Helen decided it was high time we met up for a good old chin wag.

And when girls need to talk, what do you do? You go for brunch of course.

Drunch (9)

We decided to head the little boutique eatery in Mayfair called Drunch, as still in recovery mode from Christmas, Drunch's motto- Healthy is Sexy-  seemed like a good place to start.

I recently become a big fan of smoothies as they just seem to be my little miracle worker. Got a cold? Drink a smoothie. Got a headache? Drink a smoothie. Hungover- yep, forget bacon, I want smoothies.

I think Drunch agree with me as they have a huge selection, and yes, even one named the 'Hangover Cure'. Luckily today we were perky as can be on a Sunday morning and so settled for Banana and Date, and the new currently unnamed smoothie, that had Kiwi's, apples and Banana's in it.

I think they should name it the Heroine In Heels smoothie- just saying guys!

I've also had another craving lately- omelettes. Everyday my manager at work has an omelette for breakfast. We walk to the canteen together and chat while I watch the chef make it in front of me. Secretly while I stand there clutching my Greek yoghurt, I am craving fresh omelettes.

So with that in mind, it was finally my time for omelettes.

But not any old omelette. Smoked salmon and cheese omelette with a side of beans. Mmmmm. Craving satisfied.

Helen on the other hand had a more traditional craving. Pancakes! Although with Drunch being about health, you wont find maple syrup and pancakes, instead you'll be presented with the most beautiful fruit pancakes I think I've ever seen.

With health and well being on our minds, Helen caught me up to speed on her new job at Virgin Active Gym- congrats again lovely, and I pounced on her for gym advice.

I've been trying to go more to the gym, but I will admit I struggle to find the time, so if it wasn't for my amazing trainer Kojo, I think I would be in trouble. Oh, if any of you are in the Canary Wharf area and are looking for a PT, I'll pop his twitter link here for you. Give him a bell and say Laura says Hi.

Before heading out into Mayfair for a spot of girlie shopping, we decided one strong black coffee wouldn't hurt the detox.... although later that cocktail might have- old habits die hard.

  3. This looks delicious - you both look beautiful too. I love omelette with beans mmm. Although, it does all sound a bit too healthy? I can't get my head around smoothies. However much I try, I just don't like them!

  5. That all looks so tasty, sometimes I just want to have something that feels indulgent but that's actually secretly dripping with health. I'm not very good at it though, have been eating the same salad for a week now! Really enjoy your blog as always.
