I think this is one of my first Mondays in the UK for a while. I've been travelling nearly back to back recently, flying here, there, catching trains up and down the country; it's been a magical whirlwind. But now that I'm back in London, it mean's I can start sharing my adventures with you and let you know about some awesome places that I think you'll love.
For a native Brit, I actually haven't done loads of traveling around Britain. My childhood holidays were to Wales and Norfolk, but apart from my home town and London, I don't know too many other places. So keen to discover more of Britain this year, I stayed in the Cotswolds.
The Cotswolds is a rural area of south central England, covering areas including Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. Famed for rolling hills, medieval churches and English pubs that serve real ale, it's a unspoiled part of Britain.
But where to stay? Well I discovered a gorgeous place called Lower Mill Estate, 550 acres of gorgeous countryside with self-catering houses that are well, absolutely stunning.
A family run business, it's got heart, soul and a lot of nature running through it (see my video for the duck that tried to become my new housemate).
Travel doesn't necessarily mean having to traveling abroad, there's so many amazing places in this country that have so much to offer. Lower Mill Estate have an award winning spa on site, bicycles to hire, canoes and paddle boards, so if you want a weekend away for some R&R then this would be perfect as it's only 90 minutes from London. No airport security, no hanging around waiting for flights, and no lost in translation moments. I spent my 4 day break, swimming, cycling, walking and eating; all of life's good things really, and I never left my wonderful country.
Watch my vlog above to really to understand what Lower Mill is really like. I guarantee you'll want to pack up your bags and head on over to the country afterwards.
