Getting Your Moles Checked And Mapped

Wednesday 1 June 2016

Looking after yourself and your health is very important, and something very important to me. There are a lot of blog posts on health and beauty out there; skin care regimes, diets, fitness, but what about skin care that's more than just surface deep?

Personally I get a health MOT once a year, but this doesn't include getting my moles checked. I hadn't really thought about them too much to be honest, but as I travel more, and spend more time in the sun, it's actually something very vital. Moles are small coloured spots on the skin made up of cells called melanocytes and most are harmless. But moles on rarer occasions, can cause cancer.

So I went down to the Cadogan Clinic in Chelsea and tried out their new Mole Mapping service.

The Mole Mapping service provides you with a doctor consultation, mole check up and then you have your moles mapped and analysed.

I came away really impressed, as it provided me with reassurance over my skin health and also I found it really fascinating. But watch the video and find out for yourself.

Remember though, to check your moles yourself as well:
  • Moles with uneven colouring
  • Moles with an uneven edge
  • Moles that get a lot bigger than a pencil eraser.

  1. This is a very timely reminder. I was just thinking about doing this the other day. It's not too scary is it?
