Over the weekend me and Helen (she's redoing her blog this week, so check her out) decided to have a girly weekend. Dinner, gossip, sleepover, tequila... so I thought I'd dress for the occasion and go with something I'm sure the girls from SATC would be proud of. A big, striped full skirt.
Me and mini skirts don't have the best relationship. There is something about them that I don't like that much. I personally don't like my legs, so I'd much rather feel comfortable in my clothing choices, but that doesn't mean I can't have fun. So this is where a full skirt comes in. It swishes from side to side, highlighting the wiggle in your hips when you walk. It's elegant, yet playful. And if super flattering, as it pinches in the waist giving a more defined hour glass figure.
I got this gorgeous number from JOY. It's made of super soft satin, with a structure waist and pleats that give it that all important big swish effect.
I decided to go texture heavy and clash patterns for a more sophisticated look. And yes I realize there is a broken bit on my beloved bag (!) it just happened and I need to get it fixed.

*Swishhhhh* There is something about the girliness and little details that I love about this outfit. I've well and truly fallen in love with full skirts and I hope you will to.
