Just before I was due to move to London, I wrote a list of all the things I wanted to do. There was have a picnic in Hyde Park, go see a theatre show, have breakfast at Breakfast Club and have afternoon tea at Claridges. But you know what else was on there? Attend one of Eric Lanlard's Cake Boy Masterclasses. I used to watch his baking show on Chanel 4; Baking Mad, and each week it put two teams against each other to bake cakes at his Masterclass session (This is way before Bake Off mania). I was hooked and said to myself I would do a class. Well something special happened. I got to do one and meet the man himself! Cue fan girl swooning.
Treat yourself. Or in the digital world, Treat YoSelf, seems
to be the phrase of the moment. And quite frankly I agree with it. We seem to
be pushing ourselves more and more, working harder, longer, trying to make
something of ourselves, which is amazing, but after all that, I do think it’s
really important to also Slow. Right. Down sometimes.
Four Seasons is my go to venue at the moment. I seem to go
in waves with hotels after discovering them. Years ago I was obsessed with Hotel
Café Royal, then it was Rosewood and now I’ve found my new obsession, Four
Seasons on Park Lane.
Gosh it feels like I have been away from blogging for a lifetime. I think it's been two weeks since I last blogged, which by my standards is ages. I've had a little break I guess you could say whilst work has been super busy. We are at a very important time and I just haven't had the extra time to write my blog. But don't worry my lovely lot! I used this weekend to get on top of things, and I'm now back in business.
Which is why I thought this post was aptly due as it's all about celebrating women rocking their own businesses.
A funny thing happened the other morning. I woke up at my
usual 6:30am, stumbled into the bathroom, got ready and as I came out I pulled
the bathroom cord. The light came ON. I hadn’t turned on the light in the first
place- there is now light in the morning! Sure my hands were still frozen as I
walked to the train station, but I swear I can see signs of spring.
