Pink Brunch, Nobu Shoreditch - Unlimited Champagne and Sushi

Tuesday 31 July 2018

Brunch without champagne is just a sad, late breakfast.

Never a truer word spoken. Brunch is honestly one of my favourite things to do at a weekend. It's a chance to met up with friends and eat some really great food. I mean, it's both savoury and sweet and washed down with champagne. It really is the perfect meal right?

Nobu Shoreditch is still a relatively new hotel and restaurant, having opened a year ago in July 2017. More known for it's Mayfair and West End crowd, Nobu Shoreditch is the latest addition to the high-end cool part of Shoreditch, which includes places like The Curtain and Ace Hotel. Some say it's becoming a mini Manhattan, and actually I tend to agree- but that's an exciting thing!

And after watching many, many episodes of Sex and the City, we know that Manhattan can brunch, so in keeping with this trend, Nobu Shoreditch have just launched their Pink Brunch for the whole of August in collaboration with Verve Clicquot.

The Pink Brunch a 2 hour brunch of unlimited Veuve Pink champagne, unlimited sushi, unlimited dessert from their brunch bar and a choice of a la carte dish from the menu. All of this costs £85 pp.

Oh and they have a beautiful flower wall too, which we all know is very important for our brunch shots.

I've really come to love rosé Champagne in recent times. I know rosé wine often gets a bad rep, but rosé Champagne is a whole different breed. Sweet, fruity and very, very drinkable. It's become by go to when I order a glass out somewhere.

Now this is my kind of bike accessory! Where can I get myself one of these?

Nobu Shoreditch have a gorgeous outside terrace, but inside is also very cool. It's a nice blend of hip Shoreditch, with brushed concrete and exposed metal, but also has that very zen like Japanese feel too.

The brunch bar is all laid out on top of the actual bar, sweeping right round the restaurant. There is everything from Sashimi, Sushi, salads and rice.

And of course, a huge selection of desserts, including Asian style pastries and very pretty macarons.

As you'd expect, everything is unbelievably good. Nobu know Japanese food like no other.

But of course, that isn't all, as you get to choose a main dish too. One dish stood out to me though- chicken and matcha waffles. Yes you read that right. Matcha waffles and breaded chicken with smoked maple ponzu, pecan miso butter, and a sweet and spicy hot sauce. Sounds intriguing, but boy is it very good. So many flavours hitting all at once, but don't worry, they all work perfectly in-sync. I'd come back for that dish again!

As brunch wrapped up, there was time for one last glass of champagne and one last macaron (always times for these). The brunch, especially outside on the terrace in this weather is glorious. The food is really, really good, and the whole vibe makes it feel very special.

I'd also advise having a quick wander round, as the hotel is an amazing feat of design work too. Just look at that building!

The Pink Brunch is on for the whole of August, and can be booked through their website here: https://www.nobuhotelshoreditch.com/nobu-restaurant--bar.html
