Tartan Town

Zara Tartan Skirt (6)

I can't promise wearing tartan will make you a true highlander, but it sure will do wonderful things to your head; think jigging it down the road, and shouting 'She's a bonny wee lassie.' You know, as one does in Belgravia wearing a pencil skirt and high heels.

Tartan is huge for A/W, you can't escape the influx in every store and every style, so in true bandwagon style, I was all aboard. I could have embraced the trend subtly, but where's the fun in that? Instead I went for a high waisted tartan midi skirt.

Zara Tartan Skirt (5)

I've found myself in need of more formal attire lately, and so this ticks that box, plus the trend box, PLUS my own statement style box. Multitasking little thing isn't it?

But the best part, it is super thick, so if you actually wanted to go up to Scotland, you'd be able to stand the chilly weather.

I decided to glam it up by simply adding a silk cami (not so appropriate for Scotland), my current go- to heels, and these simply amazing jewels from Zara. Zara can do no wrong in my eyes.

Skirt- Zara
Necklace- Zara
Cami- River Island
Heels- River Island

This skirt would look just as good with a snuggly grey jumper,  thick tights, and some Chelsea Boots, so if you did fancy a trip beyond our borders north, you'd be set to go. Anyone for caber tossing?
