I decided to head out into The City this weekend, and explore the mishmash of architecture. I love how ultra modern stand shoulder to shoulder with Victorian and even Georgian buildings. I keep meaning to go on a guided walking tour of The City, but that's for another day. The City has this strange effect on me, it really stirs up the British Pride in me.
So with these feelings awakened, I decided to dress for the occasion. A City slicker blazer and a Union Jack scarf- with a little fashion twist of course.
A boxy crop top!
Scarf- c/o Sahar*
Crop Top- ASOS
Blazer- Mango at ASOS
Jeans- c/o French connection*
Flats- H&M
Yes, part of me is absolutely barking mad wearing a crop top in this weather, but after Christmas I've been feeling a little self concious about my post- indulgence body, so in a bid to try and beat my doubts, I thought I'd take a leaf out of those girls who just seem to ooze confidence- through caution to the wind and say hey! I'm OK, to hell with negative thoughts!
Your eyes do not deserve you, I am wearing flats! Well even I would be a fool to wear heels when I've spotted ice on the ground.
Join me in a little patriotism and throw on something from your home country, it does wonders for the mood. And if you are feeling a little self concious lately, or your body image is feeling under fire. I'm not saying, don't worry, don't let it bother you, as trust me, I know its not that simple, but do try and step out of your comfort zone, take a bold leap of confidence and wear something totally daring.
It can be rather therapeutic- and far cheaper.

I love the colorful scarf, it's so chic and springlike :o). Xx

I love the outfit but I think I would have been freezing! More power to you though ;-) and the stepping out of your comfort zone advice will be followed very soon. I got a bit of weight and fat to lose but my friends are dragging me out to the club on Friday since it's my first weekend off work (I recently quit my retail job) in a very long time. Now I got a couple of dresses that would look a lot better with a tighter bod but I guess I gotta take the plunge and just go for it...
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit - you really have nothing to worry about stomach-wise. Flat as a pancake! The jeans are amazing too! You should create a hashtag for the red, white and blue outfit. I'll try one this weekend!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'll be getting the stomach out soon if I can. Exercise starts this afternoon!

You have such a pretty blog! I love this look! Beautiful outfit! :)
ReplyDeleteI adore that scarf and the whole outfit is so sleek, I love it! The weather we've been having up North recently, I never venture outside with anything less than three layers and a full hat/scarf/gloves set...I wish I could be rocking a crop top any time soon!

The cropped top paired with the blazer is SUPER cute. I've always veered from crop tops because I have no hips but this gives it shape
