Friday nights are for having fun with your girlfriends, and in my mind that usually means cocktails. I've had alot of emails, Facebook messages and tweets recently asking what bars are good to go to in London. I love this, so keep them coming. So in prep for tomorrow night, I thought I'd share with you a bar I went to quite a while back but hadn't blogged about it. The bar is called Apres, and the cocktails are fabulous. Plus its opposite Selfridges so you can move from one hobby to the next in one easy swoop. Let me show you...
There are the work of art ones...
Pushkin- Pear Vodka, Apple Liqueur, Apple, Pineapple & Lemon Juices, Pear Puree and Spiced Caramel Syrup
The fruity ones (they count as one of your 5 a day don't you know?)...
Katleya- Santa Teresa Grand Reserva, vanilla sugar, fresh strawberries, lime, lychee juice and rose water.
Winter Sangria- Chilled Red Wine, Strawberry, Liquorice Root, Star Anise and Lemon Peel
Pick a Dilly Margarita- dill infused tequila, watermelon, lime juice, agave and orange bitters.
The indulgent ones (they count as your, err, dairy intake for the day...? ) ...
Pink Panther- Chocolate Curls, Vodka, Mozart White Chocolate Liquor and Watermelon
And the ones that cause this face...
How do you drink that?
Moai- The Mysterious Stone Heads On Easter Island
A Blend Of Appleton 8, Eldorado 15 & Myers Rums With Crème De Bananne, Guava, Honey, Citrus And Bitters
Of course any wise girl knows, never eat on an empty stomach. Trust me from experience, its ends badly. So it is important that a good bar, has good food. Apres delivers.
Flat Iron Steak Served With Chimichuri was tended and rich. Bar food tends to be poor, but this was exceptionally good.
Vietnamese Style Hot Wings With Nuoc Cham Dipping Sauce again was juicy, spicy and not a bit dry.
Of course, we had to have one last one for the road- well it is girls night after all.
If you want further ideas of places to head to with your girlfriends give me a bell. I might as well put all my drinking to good use.
