Joyce Brothers, the respected psychologist, once said “No
matter how much pressure you feel at work, if you could find ways to relax for
at least five minutes every hour, you'd be more productive”. So Joyce, does
that mean if I take the WHOLE day off work, will I become mega amzing
productive? Well there was only one way to find out…
Swimwear365, the on-line swimwear boutique invited 5 bloggers
down to The Dolphin Square Spa for a day of relaxation and pampering. Oh it’s a
hard life sometimes!
Inspired by the traditions of Morocco, the Spa is the only
one in London where you can have a full purifying ritual of a Moroccan Hammam
and Rhassoul.
Ornate vases, candles and fine Moroccan silks lined the
walls of the Spa. With gentle harp music, and incense wafting through the
corridors, I just could feel myself becoming more productive as the minutes
went by. And with a 5* review from the Good Spa Guide, tomorrow at work I would
be on fire! I think work should treat us once a month… one of those team
building days, yes?
First up was the pool, so we soon changed into our bikinis,
ready to make some waves.
Mine is by S.Oliver at Swimwear365, and I’ll let you into a little secret,
it has removable cups, to give you a little… boost. Shhh.
After a nice, if not slightly cold swim, okay more like dip,
in the pool, I was off like a shot to the hot beds. They are literally what
they sound like. Beds that are heated. So simple, but oh so relaxing. I may
have accidentally drifted off on one…
Having chilled out for a while, it was time to try the Hamman. Essentially, it is a traditional Moroccan ritual where hot water is poured over you, then using sea salt, your whole body is scrubbed vigorously, before having it cleansed off. While slightly uncomfortable, boy is it worth it. My skin felt incredibly smooth afterwards- just maybe don't look down at the amount of rough skin that's come away...
We were then treated to a shea butter back massage. Sitting at a desk all day, I have terrible shoulder knots, so I maybe foolishly said to the masseuse "just go for it". Oww- ee! But in all fairness, ladies and gents, if you can handle a little bit of pain, do ask your masseuse to go firm, as you will feel the benefits much more in the long term.
After we whiled our time away on the hot beds, we then changed and headed for a spot of lunch to catch up on all things blogging, fashion and of course our summer holiday plans.
Never one to turn down a cocktail, I also opted for the carb heavy, steak sandwich and sweet potato fries. Good job I had this after the bikini session. Well, I'm never going to be a Victoria Secret's model am I?
The spa is absolutely heavenly, I would highly recommend it. Ask for the Hamman treatment if you go, its certainty a unique experience being bathed by someone!
And if you're off on holiday, do have a cheeky look at Swimwear365 latest range. They have some gorgeous bikini's and kaftans. I'm already eyeing up this little racy number for my holiday in June.
With all this good weather at the moment, I can't stop holiday shopping. Let me know if you are going anywhere nice this summer, I'd love to hear of your plans.

This sounds absolutely heavenly! I think I need a day like this. As HR of my company, I'm definitely going to suggest this as 'Critical teambuilding' and a really good opportunity for productivity to triple. That's convincing...right?!
ReplyDeleteI love your top btw. Spied it in a post the other day and am loving it now!

Ahh it's been years since I last went to a spa! Looks like you had a really lovely time :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not going away anywhere this year (other than to a cottage in Wales for a weekend) but I still convinced myself I needed to buy a new bikini the other day. I blame it on the weather... at least there's a hot tub at the place in Wales I'm going so I'll definitely get some wear out of it!

This sounds like such an amazing time, kinda drifted into a zen mode while enjoying this post, thanks for sharing.

Spas are a great way to relax. I enjoy a Hamman at the beginning of summer. It gets all the dead skin off and helps with circulation. This looks like heaven x
ReplyDeleteWow! I think the spa has such a cushy and comfy setup. Very nice! What with the great food and the proper ambience to complement such a relaxing moment, right? Pretty much among the things that one needs to make a spa truly earn its patronage and continued support.
