After their raved about 3 day pop up in November, The London
Cabaret Club is back. In an eruption of food, dancing and sequins, this is one
show you do not want to miss.
For one month only The London Cabaret Club have taken up
residency in the spectacular ‘The Collection’ in Knightsbridge.
With promise of exquisitely choreographed dancing, live
music, acrobatics all with fine dining, it was an invite I could not refuse and
so I wiggled into something suitably ruffly and sparkly and headed down.
Although not even my best shoes could have prepared me for
the Amazonian like beauties that welcomed me in. Drenched in sequins, legs
miles long, oh such cruel taunting!
Entering The Collection, I just had to stand there for a
moment or two. It is breathtakingly beautiful. Decadent and lavish; how did I
not know about this cocktail bar before?
Like all good nights me and Helen started with a glass of
bubbles and eagerly waited for the show to begin. Billed as a dazzling
celebration of all that is great about Britain, the show is split into 3 parts.
The first; a tribute to James Bond. The second, Britannia and the finale is a
tribute to British Pop.
Suddenly, the sounds of DJ Vogue Williams filled the room
and the James Bond show began…
Utterly mesmerising, I couldn't peel my eyes a way for even a second. The dancers were incredible. I think cabaret has gotten a slightly cheesy reputation in London. Somewhere the dances consist of topless men in sailor outfits and women in skimpy outfits flashing. This however changes everything. Elegant, sophisticated and sometimes jaw dropping as you will soon see.
In the interval it was time for our first course. Me and Helen were on the Chelsea Table, which consisted of show, 2 course dinner and after party.
Billed as fine dining, the food did not disappoint. Cooked by Pont St Restaurant's very own Sophie Michell, I opted for duck terrine, which was rich, flavoursome and the jelly added a gorgeous tang.
Helen had the asparagus, which looked fantastic.
After we had finished the lights went down and the regal sound of Long Live Britannia started to play...
I maybe have cooed over this gorgeous man! Star of the show?
After holding my hand over my mouth while Alesia and Massimo contorted into positions I didn't think were human, I needed something to bring me out of my shock. To which the lamb rump did perfectly. Cooked to perfection in my view.
And finally we were taken on a journey through British Pop...
The whole evening astounded me. I've been on some pretty cool night out, but this takes the trophy! I can not recommend it enough. If you see one thing this month, please let it be this, you will not be disappointed.
Running, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, it finished on the 31st May. To buy a ticket, click here.
I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Quintessentially Communications for inviting me- you have excelled yourself with this show!
