I've got a cracking recommendation for you today. Nothing complicated, nothing "art nouveaux" and all that fancy smancy stuff. No, I've got a damn good tasty Brunch option for you instead.
And let's be honest, which do you really prefer?
Jacket: Day birger et mikkelsen c/o Repertoire* // Tshirt: Matalan (Mens) // Leggings: Zara // Nike WMNS Dunk Sky Hi Liquid Gold
I don't often do casual wear, but some days you roll out of bed, a tiny bit Hangry (angry with hunger) and you just need some bruch. Like now.
Cue leggings, and a quirky tee. But come on now, its these absolute beasts that are the centre of attention.
I mean these beasts are truly amazing. Nike Dunk Sky Hi “Liquid Gold”. Liquid gold! You could only buy them in this one boutique in NY a while back, but I'll be the first to admit I'm a lucky lady, as the boyfriend may have bought me a pair. If I'm somewhere where heels are just not appropriate, these are on my feet. They also make me the most flashy person in my local Sainsburys when I call in for a pint of milk.
You can noly buy them on Ebay now, however here are some gorgeous alternatives: Ash Bowie Gold // Michael Kors Helen Gold

However it was time to put these babys to use and get walking into Foxcroft & Ginger.

Situated in
the heart of Soho, near the Wahaca, it’s a rough and ready kind of place.
Exposed brick, reclaimed wood, and with exposed cabling as decoration.
They have an extensive menu of classic brunch items, with a twist, as well as a counter full of freshly baked cakes and pastries that I swear they waft the scent over to tempt me to sin.

But first up on the agenda is always a drink. Usually I’m a black coffee kind of gal. But I was swayed by the promise of hot chocolate with secret spices.
Traditional hot, comforting chocolate with a hint of a kick to it; It was pretty good.
Cold drinks are served in cute milk bottles too.

Oh go on then, more drinks were ordered before we'd even looked at the menu. The waitress must have hated us, for the amount of times "5 more minutes" was said.

Eventually we got down to business and ordered.
Nessa plumped for smoked salmon, avocado and rocket on
freshly made sourdough toast with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
I eye balled the salmon. It did look damn fine. Did I make a
mistake? Was I going to get food envy?

No. No I was not. Arriving was my ham and cheese french toast. Oh boy, if there was ever a use of the word food porn, it would be right now.
That oozing cheese, so filthy.

Multiple pictures were obviously required of the french toast. It was too good not too. It was just too damn tasty. I call it the money shot.

Now I'll be honest, I made a slight greedy mistake. In my head, I pictured a dainty piece of French toast with ham and cheese on top. Thinking this, I thought, hmm it could really benefit from a bit of salty bacon to take away the sweetness.
So yes, I
ordered a side of bacon.
And no, it
was definitely not needed with that hunk of a mound! (FYI, it was still
devoured)

Me and Nessa have know each other for 5 years now. In those 5 years we’ve barely been apart. First, 2 years of university, then by chance we found ourselves both living in Ealing on our internships, purely by coincidence. Then 1 more year of uni and now, we probably see each other once every 2 weeks. Yet, I bet you girls can relate, we still can talk for hours and hours and hours. I don’t know how we find enough stuff to talk about.
So by this point we had been there fore about 2
and a half hours I kind you not, and yet, we still had so much more to discuss.
So what was the logical step next? Coffee and cake of course!

Oh who am I kidding, it was another one of those hot chocolates.
In an effort to burn off those cheeky cakes, after 3 hours, we left the poor staff at Foxcroft & Ginger and headed for Oxford Street. Full and very happy, we knew dinner was going to be underwhelming after this delicious feast.

I haven't been to the Soho one but their Whitechapel one is just around the corner from me and they do definitely do a good brunch. I've never been in the evening for pizza and wine yet but I do need to at some point. Next time I'm trying the French toast!
