Gold Celebration

Gold Celebration (15)

Do you ever have that feeling you don’t spend enough time with your friends. At university, you were constantly surrounded by friends, day in, day out. I don’t know about you but since starting a ‘proper’ job, I just don’t seem to find the time to see everyone as much I would like.

Sometimes I just want a cheeky, silly fun night out. Nothing fancy, no airs or graces, just some good honest fun with those who mean the most.

So what does that mean exactly? Why cocktails and lots of photos of course!

I met with a few friends at the new M restaurant in The City to try some signature cocktails courtesy of Johnnie Walker and their very exciting photo booth.

Exciting photo booth, isn’t that a given?

Well yes, but this one comes with a little extra excitement.

Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve have teamed up with Rankin, the world renowned fashion photographer, who also founded the magazine ‘Dazed and Confused’. Their mission is to find the next rising star. All you have to do is step inside the photo booth, take your best photograph and upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #goldcelebration to be in with a chance of winning a money-can’t-buy-prize. The winner, selected by Rankin, will have the opportunity to be photographed by Rankin, before starring in an online Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve campaign in March 2015. How amazing would that prize be? So if you think you are the next campaign face then I urge you to get down to M restaurant now.

So with that glittering prize on our minds, we jumped in the booth straight away. Blue Steel girls.

Do you think we have that je ne sais quoi?

Having got our fill of photos for the moment, we headed to the bar to try the Gold Label Reserve signature cocktails. I’ve been a big fan of Johnnie Walker for a while now after having been to a number of events with them, but it was great to share it with my friends finally.

If you love strong, punchy drinks, then these are for you. Seriously though, I know us girls tend to shy away from whisky (well unless your Robyn from HIMYM) but girls, having whisky in a cocktail is delicious and not at all wincing.

Like I said before, I just don’t seem to see my friends as often as I would like lately, so with a few drinks down us, we were soon on fire discussing our lives.

Katie might be about to start a new job which is very exciting, and Helen over here is only going to become a music video star! If you follow me on Instagram, then you might have seen that I went to the video shoot of the new Tinchy Stryder song, as Helen is the main woman in it. That song is so damn catchy, definitely going on my playlist come January. Oh, I am so proud of her!

After a few more drinks, the photos started to become rather sillier and definitely not in the running for the next rising star face.

I may not have the next rising star face, but so what? Sometimes just having those silly photos with your friends is all you need.

For your chance to win, or like me just have fun, head down to M Restaurant and snap away.
