Pepsi or Coke? It's the debate that will last a lifetime. Personally I am a Pepsi gal, which was just as well as I was invited down to get a sneak peak that Pepsi Max's new super fun edible play room.
Pepsi Max Cherry have teamed up with 'taste bud hackers' The Robin Collective to create a gastronomical playhouse in Shoreditch. Located right on the high street, The Cherry Rooms looks like any other small, nondescript shop.
However in the corner is a small hole in the wall.
Curiosity may have killed the cat, so it's a good job I'm no cat then, as I scrambled right on through.
Once through the hole we found ourselves in a room filled with waterproof ponchos and umbrellas. Rather odd wouldn't you say?
We were told to cover up, get that brolly ready and make our way into the adventure...
Firstly apologies for the very pink- or should that be cherry- coloured photos. It's the lighting.
It's a good thing we had those brollies as we had to pass through a rain tunnel, or more accurately a Cherry Pepsi rain tunnel!
Stepping into The Cherry Room, there is only one way to describe it really. Willy Wonka.
The rooms are filled with things to test and excite your 5 senses, including smoking stalagmite's.
The stalagmite are actually cocktail's in vapour form, so either use the straws provided or stick your whole face in and inhale away.
After getting a little woozy from the vapor cocktails, we went in search of other delights.
Hanging from the walls, are edible leaves, real cherries and these rather intriguing baubles.
Oh my sweet lord, these cherry marshmallows are just divine! Seriously.
I definitely went around cracking open more than my fair share after that discovery.
However it is what is in the centre of the room that is the real showstopper.
A giant, edible cherry tree.
Hanging from the branches, are goodies just waiting to be grabbed and eaten.
Like excitable children, we were off, jumping up high to reach the branches.
But don't just go for the obvious, look at the tree itself.
See those white nodules sticking out? Snap them right off, they are only amazing meringue!
Don't stop there though. Tucked into a small dent in the tree is a tiny hammer. Why would there be a hammer you might ask?
Well only because the friggin' bark is chocolate! Mind blown.
There are also headphones dotted around, which apparently through science between taste and sound, if you eat the chocolate whilst listening to the strange sounds they are playing, the chocolate will taste sweeter. Personally I didn't taste anything different, but I'd like to see if anyone else notices.
Of course, after literally stuffing our faces with chocolate and sweets, we needed a sit down.
So what better way than a swing? That little push with my feet counts as exercise right?
At the back of The Cherry Rooms is something for those needing to let off some steam.
I didn't get any photos as the woman I gave my camera kept pressing the wrong button... however here's a little sneaky video to wet your appetite.
@laurajhyatt You didn’t see that one coming! #TheCherryRooms
