On Sunday something rather amazing occurred. A mail pinged into my inbox asking if I would like to attend the BAFTAs red carpet as a guest of House of Fraser.
Let me think that one through for a moment...
My role was to live social media red carpet fashion from the ground as the action was happening, so armed with my camera, my phone, a strong signal and my backup charge brick I was red carpet ready.
Dressed in House of CB, and makeup by Georgina Day, I hopped in a taxi and headed to the Theater Royal.
Thankfully it was a glorious day on Sunday, although my choice of leather dress might have been misplaced. One word, HOT.
Personally I've never seen an award ceremony red carpet live, so was completely taken aback at how crazy busy it was. The entire time the carpet was heaving. You can't really see the television stars for staff, PRs, co-coordinators and other random people like me.
The way it all works is all rather like one giant turntable, moving from station to station. From one magazine to the other, chatting for an allotted minute, and then onto the next.
Then finally at the end of the circuit is the paparazzi wall, where again they have their dedicated minute to pose, before being ushered away for the next start to step up in front of the camera wall.
Everything is micro managed, however that doesn't take away from the shear glamour. Maybe it adds to it, as everyone is out to make an impression, and wow did they do so.
Some of the dresses were stunning as I'm sure you will agree.
My photos are a mix of camera and iPhone (Square photos) so enjoy.
There has been mixed opinion on Claudia's dress, but personally I loved her Chanel dress.
Maisie Williams from Game of Thrones was such a sweet darling, with no pretenses at all. Big love there!
Mary Berry!
The Towie lot were out in force looking super glamorous.
As were the Made in Chelsea crew.
Katie Piper looked gorgeous and was so sweet, chatting to me for a while. As if she has only just had a baby!
Of course, then men were out in full force looking daper too.
I do love how social media/ YouTube stars have made it into main stream now, with Fleur de Force and Pixie Woo sisters gracing the red carpet.
The woman of the hour, Michelle Keegan looked radiant in a mint green House of Fraser dress. Again she was so lovely and sweet to talk to. Almost shy I thought!
Laura Whitmore however is just my girl crush. I'd met her before at the Myla Party, and again she is so kind and friendly, spending time talking to people. She genuinely has time for others which I noticed was somewhat rare on the red carpet.
Finally Donna Air came out with this incredible dress. With the Apple Watch, wearable technology is gaining more and more mainstream credibility, and while her dress is rather a leap, I genuinely loved it's creativity.
The red carpet is rather a crazy circuit, and competing for everyone's attention and time is rather stressful it was the more amazing experience.

Ahhh Laura, what an incredible opportunity - I bet you had the best time! I love Millie Mackintosh's dress as well as Maisie Williams', I think they're really beautiful!
